The Tapestry

Beside working on a replica of the Bayeuxtapestry, our purpose was to work for a permanent exhibition for the replica.

Come and see when the embroiderers sew the last stitches on the Danish copy of the Bayeux wallpaper.

In the Bayeux group we had a debate about the ending to the original Bayeux Tapestry.

The Bayeux Tapestry shows 49 scenes of history about the battle of Hastings in 1066 and a chronicle of events prior to the invasion.

The idea to the project occurred – in a good local tradition – over a good lunch.

In the book by Mogens Rud ”Bayeuxtapetet” the tapestry is shown in size 1:6.

It has long been known that what is going on on the Bayeux tapestry is not objective

No written sources indicate who has ordered the Bayeux Tapestry or for what purpose.

The new wallpaper is embroidered extensively, 10 meters with the saga of Erik the Red and Leif the Happily.
